Long distance relay 2012

I have been asked by Ray to advertise the long distance relay 2012.

This year we are doing a loop from Helmsley to Helmsley on a route called the Inn Way. (Apparently it passes 30ish inns on the way)

The dates this year are 30th June and 1st of July, but leaving Consett on the Friday if you are travelling on the minibus.

For those who don’t know about the long distance relay weekend,it is a weekend of eating, drinking and a little bit of running!
You can do as much or as little of any of them that you want. It is a relaxed weekend. Campsites have been recced by Brian and there is usually bed and breakfast around for those non camping bounders. It is usually a good weekend and the more runners we get the better.

I know it is a little further this year to travel but I am sure that the experience will be worth it.

To add from Ray.

Distances and elevations kindly measured by Richard (so now you know who to blame).

Accommodation arrangements by Brian.

Maps still to be organized.

Based on mix of 11-14 min miles with terrain and navigation contingencies.

To add from Brian.

Yes I have been down to the area and have sorted 2 luxury campsites.

Friday night very near Helmsley about 3 mile to town so we will need a nominated driver to get into town plenty of pubs cafeterias and takeaways.

Saturday night in the village of Rosedale Abbey,2 pubs and a couple of tea shops. If we would like to eat in the pubs I would suggest we book a table as we are normally a large group  and there were a few problems at Brampton last year.

Camping will be £10 per person per night.

All names to me ASAP and I will sort out camping.

The same with the meal for Sat night I can book it once I get an idea of numbers.

I would have to make my own way and follow you all down slightly later on Friday evening. If I did this, would there be willing drivers to help with getting my car from campsite to campsite to finish?

No problem Sara ,we always have enough drivers on the bus to get the cars round .
