A few Bounders have run this in the past and enjoyed the race and the pub afterwards. This year’s race is on Tuesday 3rd July. The course is the usual 5.5 miles that takes in a mix of disused railway line, heather, rough moorland and a stream. So, bring your water wings they say.. and a few small hills thrown in too. The route covers some parts of the beginning and end sections of the Bounders away Hanging Fox run so will be familiar to some.
The fun starts at 7.30pm at the top of Crawleyside Bank, 2 miles north of Stanhope if you head down the road past Parkhead Cafe towards Stanhope you can`t miss the cars on the left where the registration is.
To add to the fun there is a presentation at the Moorcock Inn afterwards where everyone gets a bottle of beer and they also normally lay on a hot buffet. The entry list is a mixture of top fell runners and all sorts of club runners. Only a fiver to enter on the night and is open to 16 and over so all you off road runners get yourself along and have a go no excuses!!
