This was the 1st time the majority of those that ran for the Bounders today had done this event before and what a great event it was full marks to Elswick Harriers for hosting such a smooth and well organised event. Lovely to see so many athletes from the North East out along with some international ones too one of which ran in the 1500m final at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London!
The lasses were first to run the format being teams of 3 each runner having to complete an out and back 2.2 mile course in and around the Newburn Riverside Park. Sadly we did not have complete teams due to a couple of the ladies pulling out through illness amongst other things. Big well done to Leanne, 3rd fastest Vet, Jane, Becky and Maresa you all ran very well.

Once the Senior and Vet Woman had finished it was time for the Senior and Vet Men to do their bit. 2 full teams had been entered prior to the event we were banking on entering a 3rd team on the day but unfortunately Elswick were over subscribed for the 1st time ever and had to close the entries early. Apologies to those that wanted to run but couldn’t we will make sure we are more organised and enter all teams in advance in future so everyone gets the chance to run.
The format for the lads was teams of 4 each runner having to complete an out and back 2.2 mile course in and around the Newburn Riverside Park. Congratulations to Jordan Bell who was fastest Bounder of the day managing to beat someone called Stewy Bell by 3 seconds!! Well done to the rest you all ran very well with some impressive times for certain individuals, keep up the good work.
