The Bounders made the Easter Sunday trip to the seaside for the 10th running of the North Tyneside 10K a really nice flat 10K from North Shields leisure centre to St Marys lighthouse over in Whitley Bay. Over 1800 runners took part in this annual event hosted by NT council on a bright but quite breezy day once onto the sea front which made the final 4 miles pretty tough going. The impressive Stewy Bell managed to follow us along the course jumping out of his car at various points barking out orders to all Bounders! Also cheering us on were some of the friends and families of some of those running. A very well organised race with a nice commemorative T-shirt and goody bag at the finish. Due to this being a point to point course free buses were provided at the end to transport you back to the start at North Shields.
