Weekly Round Up 18/5/25

Pier to Pier – (South Shields – Roker)18th May

The next fixture in the club Grand Prix featured the iconic pier to pier race a straight race from South Shields to Roker by any means necessary…. providing it was on foot and not via the road. Although the temperature had cooled compared to the previous days, but a massive tail wind aided everyone in their race to fast times and almost certain course best times. the maximum points being picked up by David Grimes and Kaye Collins

London Marathon Report

A warm reception (In more ways than one) greeted the selection of bounders who tackled the iconic 26.2 miles around London. Several of the club also travelled down to spectate and soak in the atmosphere of now the world’s largest marathon as London surpassed New York’s 2024 world record of 55,646 finishers.

All enjoyed the occasion and put in admirable performances given the conditions described as: “uncomfortable” and “The hottest day ever” (evidence might be lacking on that last one)
