Consett Run England

If any of Blackhill Bounders sessions do not suit your needs then why not try the Consett Run England beginners group which meets every Tuesday and Thursday 6 – 7pm upstairs in the Belle Vue Leisure centre.

The sessions are taken by our members who have completed the Leadership In Running And Fitness course and are fully qualified and insured by UK Athletics to deliver fun and safe sessions to groups of runners with different abilities, including new runners and those who already run but want to progress.

The sessions are FREE and are split into 3 groups, Total beginners, Intermediate and Advanced runners. The sessions include a fun dynamic warm-up followed by a main body of walking/jogging/running and finished with a steady cool down and some gentle static stretching. Since the group started in March 2012 we have had on average over 30 runners out at each session some who had never ran before now running over 3 miles with some going on to complete park runs,10K races and 9 who completed the recent Great North Run in September 2012.

The aim of these sessions is based on the Couch to 5K running plan so whether you’re just getting started or are an experienced runner who needs a push, these sessions make working out simple, social, and fun and are great starting point to hopefully joining the Bounders. 12 members so far have gone on to join the Bounders.
